UNIVERSITY CENTER - The Saginaw Valley State University women's soccer team hosted the Delta College Pioneers in a non-conference tilt on Tuesday afternoon at SVSU's Braddock Field.
The Lady Cardinals got on the board with a goal from Ashley Henderson on a penalty kick at the 34:23 marker to give the home team a 1-0 advantage. That same score held true into the halftime break.
At the 70:09 mark in the second half, Lisa Schade scored off a pass from Emma Webster to push the lead out to 2-0 for the Cards.
Just over eight minutes later at the 78:17 marker, Shelby Watts got a rebound off her own blocked shot and stuffed it in the back of the net, moving the SVSU advantage to 3-0.
The Pioneers added a goal on a breakaway by Aleisha Jones at the 81:49 mark, making the score 3-1.
That's what the final count would prove to be on a chilly, damp and windy day.
