KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A pair of Saginaw Valley State University women's soccer student-athletes were named to the NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division II Women's All-Midwest Region Team.

Junior Presley Tibbetts was named to the first team as a midfielder while sophomore goalkeeper Claire Spleth earned second team honors.

Tibbetts had one goal and a team-high seven assists for the Lady Cardinals, accounting for nine total points, which was third on the team.  She was selected to the 2014 All-GLIAC First Team as well, finishing fifth in the conference with the seven assists.  Her honors also garnered her Daktronics Second Team All-Region honors.

Spleth, the 2014 GLIAC "Goalkeeper of the Year" and All-GLIAC First Team honoree, posted an 11-4-3 overall record for SVSU, recording nine shutouts.  She made 95 saves for a save percentage of .856 and allowed just 0.86 goals per game.  She started and played every minute between the posts for the Lady Cardinals.

The two were catalysts for the 2014 Lady Cardinals, who made their second-ever appearance in the NCAA Division II Tournament, claiming the program's first-ever victory in the national tourney with a 1-0 decision over Ohio Dominican.

SVSU finished the 2014 season with an 11-4-3 overall record, the most victories since the 2009 season (14) that resulted in the first-ever NCAA appearance.
