UNIVERSITY CENTER - The Saginaw Valley State University women's soccer team has earned a berth into the 2014 NCAA Division II National Tournament, where it will face GLIAC foe Ohio Dominican University in the Midwest Regional Quarterfinal Round.  The match will be played at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, which is the top overall seed in the region.

The Lady Cardinals return to the national tournament for the first time since the 2009 season, when SVSU fell to Quincy by a score of 1-0.  It's just the second time in program history that the ladies have qualified for the national tournament and it marks the first time ever that both the SVSU women's and men's teams have made the tourney in the same season.

Ohio Dominican is ranked #23 nationally and is making its first-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

Saginaw Valley enters the regional as the #5 seed and will face the #4 seeded Panthers at 1:00 Eastern Time on Friday (11/14).  The two teams met earlier in the season and played to a 0-0 draw at Panther Field on the campus of ODU on September 28th.

SVSU (10-3-3) posted a 10-3-3 overall record in 2014 and had an 8-2-2 mark in GLIAC play.  The Cardinals qualified for the 2014 GLIAC Tournament, but bowed-out in the quarterfinals to Ashland University.  Ohio Dominican (15-4-1) advanced to the GLIAC Championship Game, falling to Grand Valley State.
