BAY CITY, Mich. - Two Saginaw Valley State University women's soccer players were honored by the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) for their performances during the 2013 season.
Freshman forward Jennifer Goethals (Rochester, Mich./Rochester HS) was selected to the All-GLIAC Second Team after scoring eight goals on the year and adding a team-high eight assists, good enough for the team lead with 24 total points.
Sophomore defender Presley Tibbetts (Grandville, Mich./Grandville HS) was named to the All-GLIAC Honorable Mention Team after recording a goal and three assists in 2013 from the defensive end. Tibbetts also received All-Midwest Region recognition, earning NSCAA/Continental Tire Third-Team honors.
The Cardinals advanced to the GLIAC Tournament Quarterfinals this season, where they fell in double overtime on a last second goal at Michigan Tech University. SVSU graduates just three seniors from this year's squad.
