UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State women's soccer team is set to take on the No. 1 ranked Grand Valley State University Lakers on Friday (Sept. 27) in a contest between Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) rivals.

The SVSU women come into the match with a 3-2-1 overall record and a 1-1 GLIAC record, while GVSU brings an undefeated 4-0-1 overall record and a 2-0 mark in league play. 

The Cardinals hope to improve upon the teams' 2012 regular season clash, when the Cardinals and Lakers played to a 0-0 tie. 

Grand Valley has held on to the No. 1 ranking for two straight weeks.

Match time is set for 2 pm at Braddock Field.
