UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University women's soccer team defeated the Storm of Lake Erie, 2-0 in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Contest today (Oct. 12). 

The Lady Cardinals (6-2-4,5-1-3) came out ready to fly through the Storm (3-9-1,2-5-1). Saginaw Valley set the tempo of the game early in the first half with Ashley Coffin (Sterling Heights, Mich. / Stevenson HS) finding Annie Aubrey (Jackson, Mich. / Jackson HS) off of a swift pass, which produced Aubrey's first of two goals on the afternoon as she slipped the ball by the keeper into the back of the net at the 19:23 minute mark. 

Coming out of intermission the Lady Cardinals kept the pressure on the Storm as Aubrey was able to net her second goal of the afternoon off of an assist from Charley Porter (Mindland, Mich. / Midland HS) at the 50:52 minute mark putting the Cardinals up by the final score of 2-0. 

SVSU will be back in action this Sunday (Oct. 14) at noon as they defend the nest against Notre Dame (OH) on Senior Day.
