Cardinals End Season with Loss to Ohio Dominican, 2-1

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University women's soccer team fell to Ohio Dominican, 2-1 today (Oct. 28) in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) contest.

During the first half of play the Cardinals were unable to capitilize on their two shots on goal, entering the half in a 0-0 tie. The Panthers would take a 1-0 lead over Saginaw Valley at the 68:00 mark of the contest, and then extended their lead to 2-0 when Jennifer Holton scored on a shot into the upper right hand corner of the goal.

Saginaw Valley would attempt a comeback scoring their only goal of the contest with less then five minutes to play when Emily Wheat (Flint, Mich. / Kearsley HS) scored on a header off a pass from junior Charley Porter (Midland, Mich.), but it would not enough as the Panthers went on to a 2-1 victory.

With the loss the Cardinals end their season with a 6-8-2 record overall, and 5-8-2 record in the GLIAC, while Ohio Dominican improves to 9-6-2 overall on the season, and 7-4-2 in the GLIAC.
