BAY CITY, Mich. - The head women's soccer coaches of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference have chosen the Saginaw Valley State University Cardinals to finish runner-up in the North Division for the upcoming 2010 season in preseason balloting.  The Cards received 21 points, including one first-place vote, to finish four points behind defending National Champion Grand Valley State University, which totaled 25 points, including the other five first-place nods.

SVSU is coming off its most successful season in program history.  The Cardinals posted a record 14 wins while going 14-3-3 and advancing to NCAA Division II postseason play for the first time.  It was the sixth-straight winning season for Coach Drago, who heads into his eighth season at the helm for the Cardinals.
