MIDLAND, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State
University women’s soccer team triumphed over Northwood
University today (Nov. 2) 4-0.
It took the Cardinals less than a minute to get on the board in
the first half as junior midfielder Jaclyn Barrett (Williamston,
Mich./Williamston HS) scored at the 29 second mark off a pass from
junior Renee Privette (Port Huron, Mich./Port Huron HS). Less than
10 minutes later senior Kim Oberski (Port Huron, Mich./Port Huron
HS) gave the Cardinals a two-goal advantage off a corner kick from
Barrett. At the 18:48 minute mark, Barrett connected on her second
goal of the game. The Cardinals would take the 3-0 lead into
halftime.
In the second half, SVSU would net the last goal of the game at
the 83:37 mark when junior Kristen Kemmer (Bay City, Mich./John
Glenn HS) buried the ball in the back of the net.
The win gives the Cardinals an 8-8 overall record, and an 8-6
record in the GLIAC as they round out the regular season, while
Northwood falls to 2-16 overall and 0-14 in the GLIAC.
