Cardinals tied for sixth after NCAA East Regional first round

KANSAS CITY - The Saginaw Valley State University women's golf team opened play at the NCAA East Regional on Monday afternoon from the Shoal Creek Golf Club in Kansas City, Missouri. The Cardinals are tied for sixth with GLIAC Champion Grand Valley State University in the team standings with a score of 313. The top five finishing teams will advance to the NCAA Division II National Championships. 

SVSU was led by Emily O'Brien with a round one score of 74. She is tied for eighth on the individual leaderboard. Brook Herbstreit is currently tied for 20th with a 78, while Amanda Ehrlich is right behind in a tie for 26th with a 79. Completing the scoring for the Cardinals was Megan Kozlowski in a tie for 44th with an 82. 

Also competing was Andie Martin in a tie for 68th place with a first-round score of 87. 

Day two of the NCAA East Regional is set to begin at 9:30 am EST from the Shoal Creek Golf Club in Kansas City.
