Women's Golf places third in first tournament of the season

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Saginaw Valley State University women's golf team placed third in the team standings at the Champions of Women's Golf Tournament hosted by Ohio Dominican University. The Cardinals had a total team score of 643 over the two rounds of play on the weekend. 

Olivia Pumford led the Cardinals individually in a tie for third place with a score of 155 (+15). Behind her, Mandy Ehrlich finished tied for 11th place with a score of 161. Megan Thiravong tied for 15th place with a 163 while Brook Herbstreit was close behind in a tie for 17th and a score of 164. Completing the scoring for SVSU was Rachael Krieger in a tie for 47th place with a 176.

The Cardinals will be back in action next weekend at the 12th Annual Gilda's Club Laker Fall Invite starting Saturday at The Meadows Golf Course in Allendale, Mich.
