AUGUSTA -- The Saginaw Valley State University Women's Golf team finished in 6th place at the 2019 GLIAC Championships, held at the Stonehedge Golf Course - North Course in Augusta, Michigan. The Lady Cardinals trimmed 12 strokes off its first round score, carding a 318 in the second 18 holes of action.
SVSU finished 8 strokes behind 5th place Northern Michigan and 10 behind Wayne State, which secured the fourth and final spot in the semifinal team medal round. GVSU is the #1 seed and will face the Warriors while Davenport and Northwood will be the match after securing the #2 and #3 spots, respectively.
Alexa Marston finished tied for 11th place overall, shooting twin scores of 79-79 for a 14-over total of 158.
Emily Barker finished 16th overall after shooting rounds of 82-79.
Keegan Miller had the low round on day two with a score of 78, as she finished tied for 24th after a first round 87. Annika Neumann tied for 24th as well, shooting scores of 83-82.
Jenna Pepper finished 35th overall after posting rounds of 86-85 in the event.
