UNIVESITY CENTER, Mich. – Saginaw Valley State University women's track and field athlete Cheyenne Williamson was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) women's track athlete of the week by the league office.

Williamson led the Saginaw Valley State women's track and field team at the annual Doug Hansen Open last Friday. She improved upon her 60m hurdle school record at the meet with a time of 8.29 seconds. That mark is almost a full tenth of a second (.09) better than her previous record. She currently ranks second in all of NCAA Division II in the 60 hurdles with that finish.

The SVSU track and field team is hosting the two-day Jet's Pizza Invitational this Friday and Saturday, January 26-27 inside the SVSU Fieldhouse.
