SVSU Posts 10 First Place Finishes In Northwood/Tiffin Triangular

UNIVERSITY CENTER — The SVSU Track and Field Teams dominated their last home indoor meet of the season in a triangular against Northwood and Tiffin Saturday (Feb. 3) afternoon. The team contributed to 10 first place finishes out of 25 events (SVSU only had competitors in 22 events). 

First Place Finishes

  • Kinzie Sikkema ran a 5:35.73 and won the women's one mile race. 
  • Brendan Nesbitt won the men's one mile with a 4:26.45 time and took first place in the men's 800 meter dash as well. 
  • Lauren Huebner posted a 57.62 time, winning the women's 400 meter dash.
  • Jamelle Russell earned his first place finish in the men's 60 meter dash with a 7.26. 
  • Joseph Thwing won the men's high jump competition with a 1.88m distance.
  • Brooke Sutyak was the only competitor in the women's pole vaulting competition and she won with a 3.05m.
  • Jacob Kulhanek hit the 4.15m mark, winning the men's pole vaulting competition.
  • Donna Jean Eschenbacher won the women's triple jump with a 10.04m jump.
  • Jonathan Johnson earned his first place finish in the men's triple jump with a top total of 13.09m.

NCAA Provisonal

  • Ryan Kelly earned a fourth place finish in the men's shot put competition, earning a NCAA prosivional with a 16.60m throw.

Up Next... 

The Cardinals will head to Grand Valley State University to participate in the GVSU Big Two-Day Meet, beginning on Friday (Feb.9) morning at 10 a.m.
