Caird closes SVSU career with All-American Honorable Mention performance

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Saginaw Valley State University diving season came to a close on day four of the NCAA DII National Championships Saturday at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.

The Cardinals were represented on day four by senior Libby Caird, who closed out her outstanding SVSU career with a second All-American Honorable Mention performance of the week.

Caird competed in the women's 1-meter dive, finishing in 14th place with a score of 385.20 for the Cardinals. The finish comes two days after Caird took 12th place on the 3-meter board.

"Libby finished out a record-breaking year by continuing the excellence from the year prior with two more All-American Honorable Mentions," SVSU Head Diving Coach Joe Gucwa said. "Libby has been an excellent student-athlete to have coached mentored and built success together. She will forever be a memento for our diving program, I'm grateful and blessed to have coached Libby and I wish her the best as she furthers her career in occupational therapy. Thank you for all you've done for SVSU Libby."
