Megan Van Vliet was promoted to Associate Head Athletic Trainer in January 2020 after serving as an Assistant Athletic Trainer since January 2017. Van Vliet joined the SVSU Athletic Training Staff in August of 2015 as a graduate assistant athletic trainer. She came to Saginaw Valley State University after serving as an Intern/Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of Findlay from August 2014 to May 2015.
Van Vliet is responsible for providing coverage for the football team and women's tennis team here at SVSU
A native of Cass City, Michigan, Van Vliet graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2014 and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Athletic Training. She went on to earn a Master’s of Science Degree in Health Leadership in 2017 from Saginaw Valley State University. During the summer of 2014, Van Vliet completed an athletic training internship with North Carolina State University's Football team.
Van Vliet has been a BOC certified athletic trainer since 2014. She holds memberships in the National Athletic Trainers' Association, Great Lakes Athletic Trainers' Association and the Michigan Athletic Trainers' Society.
