Fulton Named NFCA Division II All-Region

STARKVILLE, Miss.Saginaw Valley State University senior pitcher Jade Fulton (Byron, Mich.) has been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Midwest Region First Team.

Fulton has extended her record to 27-9 following three victories over the weekend at the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional #2 Tournament.  She has 24 complete games, five saves and has struck-out a GLIAC-record 371 batters in 240.0 innings pitched.  She has surrendered only 24 walks in the 2011 season.  Fulton was also named the 2011 GLIAC Softball "Pitcher of the Year" and earlier this week Fulton was also named to the Daktronic All-Midwest Region First Team as well.

The Cardinals host GLIAC rival Grand Valley State University in a best-of-three weekend super regional match-up, as the two teams compete for a trip to the NCAA Division II World Series in Salem, Va.  The series gets underway with a 3:00 p.m. start on Friday (5/20).  Saturday will feature a noon start for game #2, with an "if necessary" game to follow that contest.
