UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - Saginaw Valley State University has been selected as the host site of the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional #2 Softball Tournament. The SVSU softball team wrapped-up the #3 overall seed in the Midwest Region and will host one of two four-team brackets. The other teams joining SVSU will be #2 Indianapolis, #6 Northern Kentucky and #7 Ashland. The winner of the SVSU Regional will face-off in a Super Regional series on May 20-22 at a site that's yet to be determined.
The Cardinals will face #6 seed Northern Kentucky University in the tournament's opening game, Friday at 1:00 p.m. The two teams met earlier this season in Florida, as SVSU opened its season with a 4-2 victory over the Norse.

Grand Valley State, the #4 overall seed, is set to host the other half of the Midwest Regional Tournament. They are joined by #1 Tiffin, #5 Quincy and #8 Lewis.
