BAY CITY, Mich. -  Six Saginaw Valley State University softball players, including the 2011 GLIAC "Pitcher of the Year" were selected by coaches as part of the The 2011 All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Softball Team today (5/6)

Senior pitcher Jade Fulton (Byron, Mich.) was selected as the 2011 GLIAC "Pitcher of the Year" after compiling a 24-7 overall record this season with five saves.  During the Cardinals annual spring trip to Florida, Futon broke the career strikeout mark at SVSU and continues to build upon that mark as she closes-out her senior campaign.  She also holds the the career mark for saves at Saginaw Valley and in the GLIAC with 19.  She set the single season strikeout mark earlier this season in a game against Northwood University (4/23), a record that now stands at 319 and counting, compared to just 20 walks.  Fulton currently sits just 52 strikeouts shy of breaking the single season GLIAC mark of 370 that was set back in 2003.  In her career, Fulton has complied an impressive 64-17 record with 19 saves, as she has helped lead the Cardinals to three straight NCAA postseason appearances and two GLIAC Championships over the past three seasons.  She was selected twice previously to the All-GLIAC Second Team and in 2009 she received recognition when she was named Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II "Pitcher of the Week" after tossing 41 innings and posting a 0.17 earned run average.

Junior catcher Kalie Burdick (Milford, Mich.) joins Fulton on the first team after posting a .382 batting average for the season with 10 doubles, four home runs and 20 RBI's.
