Prior to SVSU/Personal: Prepped at Forest Hills Eastern High School under head coach Jeremy Hurley...helped lead team to a conference and regional championship four consecutive years of high school career...qualified for Cross Country state meet all four years as well...placed in the top 40 runners at the 2006, 08 and 09 Individual Cross Country State meet...was an individual regional champion and qualifier for the 2007 state meet where he was named all-state and top 30 runners...named regional runner up at the 2008 Cross Country state meet...nominated as team captain for 2009 season and was a four-year varsity letterman...made all-conference and all-state teams for 2009 Track season and was a member of the school record setting 4x800 team at the 2009 Track state meet.
