Grob and Mudd Finish Competition at Azusa Pacific Multis

AZUSA, Calif. - A pair of Saginaw Valley State University men's track & field student-athletes completed their competition at the Azusa Pacific Multis on Thursday (Apr. 17).

Tyler Grob was seeded in the First Flight of the Decathlon event.  He sat in 9th place overall after the first day with a total of 3,494 points.  Grob's best event on the opening day was the decathlon shot put, where he posted a distance of 13.52 meters on his first attempt.  

Fellow Cardinal Andrew Mudd was seeded in the Second Flight of the event, where he was in second place after a great first day of competition.  Mudd claimed the decathlon 100 meter dash with a time of 11.28 and had a pair of runner-up finishes in the 400 meter dash (50.28) and the long jump (6.73 meters).  His day total was 3,483 points.

Grob improved two spots and finished seventh overall in the event with a two day total of 6,596 points in the top flight.  Mudd would end up with a sixth place finish in the second flight with a grand total of 6,209 points.  Both student-athletes posted NCAA Division II Provisional marks with their efforts.
