ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University men's indoor track & field team began the weekend by having several of its student-athletes participate in the 2014 GVSU Tune-up meet in preparation for next weekend's GLIAC Indoor Championships.
For the men in the 800 meter run, Andrew Middleton ran to an NCAA Division II Provsional mark of 1:52.84, earning him a first place finish in the event. Travis Toye placed third in the same event while also earning a provisional mark with a time of 1:53.40. DaJuawn Wallace (1:54.45) and Gerald Henderson (1:54.56) placed fourth and fifth, respectively, to give SVSU the fop four of five spots in the race.
D'Omar Boyded posted a provisional mark of 8.29 in the 60 meter hurdle preliminaries and followed that mark up with an improved time of 8.19 in the finals of the race, placing him third.
A few of the men will take part in tomorrow's U of M Silverston Invitational before next weekend's GLIAC Indoor Championships, which will be hosted by Hillsdale College this year.
