WALNUT, Calif. - The Saginaw Valley State University men's and women's track and field teams were able to send a few qualified athletes to compete in the Mt. San Antonio College hosted Mt. SAC Relays.

The men were led by senior Derek Stone (Metamora, Mich./Lapeer East HS) who earned a 68th place finish, in a very competitive field of 148 athletes, and crossed the line with a NCAA Division II provisionally qualifying time of 3:51.06 in the 1,500-meter run.  Teammates Cortland Seaver (Freeland, Mich./Freeland HS) and Jeff Wilson (South Lyon, Mich./South Lyon HS) both participated in the 10,000-meter run and finished with respectable times of 31:06 and 32:16.98.

The Cardinals will be back in action again next weekend when they compete in the Stan Lyons Invitational.
