MIDLAND, Mich. - In a matchup of national top-20 teams, the no. 17 SVSU men's soccer team fell by a score of 3-2 in overtime on the road to the 13th-ranked Northwood Timberwolves on Sunday (Sep. 11) afternoon. The Cardinals held a 2-0 lead through the opening 45 minutes of play but NU went for a pair of goals in the second half to force overtime and scored the game-winner just 1:39 into the extra period to claim the victory.

Roderic Green used a Stefan Tomasevic pass and beat the Northwood goalkeeper at the 16' mark for the 1-0 lead. Oakley Hanger joined in on the action at the 42' marker to push the lead out to 2-0, as he found the back of the net with an unassisted goal.

That two goal lead held true into halftime, with SV converting on two of their three shots in the first 45 minutes of action.

Northwood scored goals at the 61' mark and 78' point, respectively, to knot the score up at 2-2.
