UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley
State University men’s soccer team fell to Tiffin University
5-3 this afternoon (Oct. 9) in a Great Lake Intercollegiate
Athletic Conference (GLIAC) match-up.
The Cardinals got on the scoreboard early when junior Anthony Palazzolo
(Warren, Mich. / Western Michigan/Hope) found the back of the net
on a pass from senior Kevin Fox (Flushing,
Mich.). Andy
Burgeson (Shelby Twp., Mich. / Utica Eisenhower HS) added
another goal in the 18th minute to put Saginaw Valley up 2-0.
Tiffin would answer back with five straight goals to make the score
5-2. The Cardinals scored one more goal in the 79th minute of the
game when freshman Zachary Myers (Grand
Rapids, Mich. / Forest Hills Eastern HS) scored off a pass from
Burgeson.
With the loss Saginaw Valley falls to 3-8-2 overall and 0-4-1 in
the GLIAC, while Tiffin improves to 7-2-1 overall and 3-1-1 in
conference play. The Cardinals are back in action Sunday (Oct. 11)
when they will host University of Findlay at 2:30pm.
