Men's Golf Finishes SVSU Invitational Fifth Overall

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Saginaw Valley State University men's golf team finished the SVSU Spring Invitational in fifth place Sunday, March 19. The team sat third place at the beginning of the day behind Purdue Northwest and Davenport University.

Nick Bailey (T6) led the way for the Cardinals in the second round, firing an even par 72 for an overall score of one-over for the tournament. Bailey recovered nicely with two birdies in three holes after being struck with an errant ball in the ribs from the group that was playing behind him. Connor Jackacki (T9) finished second for the team shooting two-over par through two days of play. Jackacki shot 72-74 in his first and second rounds respectively. Jiseung Choi rattled off a 72 on his second day of play to place him T25 with a score of 149. Ethan Swenson bounced back after a rough start to his round and finished his second round with a five-over-par 77, firing 153 for the weekend. Joseph Per rounded out the team scoring with a 157.

Individually for SVSU, Brendon Gouin finished T25 shooting 75-74 for a total of 149. Michael Zanoni fired off 78-74 for his weekend, leaving him T31 overall. Shea Harmeson rounded out the individuals for SVSU, shooting 81-82 for a combined score of 163.
