ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University men's golf team finished the opening tournament of the season hosted by Grand Valley State University on Sunday and Monday at The Meadows in Allendale, Mich.

The Cardinals had their best round of the event to open with a 303 in round one. SVSU closed with a three-round score of 924 to finish 10^th out of 12 teams. GVSU won the event with an 848 total score.

Connor Jakacki led the Cardinals with a total score of 222 to tie for 14^th overall after a 72 in the third round on Monday. Jiseung Choi was tied for 45^th with a 232, followed by Ethan Swenson with a 233 in a tie for 48^th. Nick Bailey finished tied for 69^th with a 238.

The Cardinals compete nest at the Glenmoor Classic hosted by Malone University on Sept. 12-13 at the Glenmoor Country Club in Canton, Ohio.
