UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University men's golf team concluded play at the Walsh Cavalier Classic Tuesday at the Glenmoor Country Club in Canton, Ohio.
The Cardinals fell from second after the first two rounds to finish fourth with a 303 in the final round. SVSU totaled a three-round score of 877, including a 293 in round one and 281 in round two. The Cardinal second-round score was the lowest shot by any team at the event.
Walsh University rallied in the final round to claim the team title with a score of 868.
Jared Lyons led the Cardinals with a fifth-place finish individually. He dropped from a tie for first after the second round with a final round of 74. His second-round score of 67 was the lowest single-round by any golfer in the tournament.

The Cardinals will prepare for the Great lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship set for April 16-18 at Gull Lake in Augusta, Mich.
