Men's Golf tied for 4th after 18 holes at Panther Invitational

AUGUSTA -- The Cardinal Men's Golf team posted a team score of 294 and sit in a tie for fourth place with Lewis after the first round of the Davenport University Panther Inviational. 

SVSU is 10-over par with that total, sitting 11 strokes behind third place Grand Valley State. Wayne State sits in second with a tally of four under par and Ashland caught fire and leads after a first round 11-under par score.

Brendon Gouin shot the lowest round of any Cardinals competing, team or as an individual, with an even par round of 71 (E). He sits in a tie for 12th place overall.

Gunnar Stein and Jared Lyons each had a two-over score of 73 while Alex Dice, Brady Dice and Mitch Hughes all shot a round of 74 and Wyatt Liston had a first round 80.

The Cardinals will be in action next on Sunday looking to vault up the leaderboard. First tee-off will be at 11:00 a.m. in the shotgun start.
