Men's Golf Sits 7th After 36 Holes at Underwood Invitational

ALLENDALE -- The SVSU Men's Golf team opened the 2019-20 season on Monday at the 2019 Don Underwood Invitational, hosted by Grand Valley State University at The Meadows Golf Course. The Cardinals sit in seventh place after the first two rounds, which both took place on Monday for the first 36 holes of action. 

SVSU shot rounds of 303-296, sitting nine strokes behind sixth place Drury. Findlay leads after the opening day with a score of 576, four strokes clear of Wayne State. 

Scores

  • Gunnar Stein sits in a tie for 11th place overall after 36 holes, shooting rounds of 73-72. He is three over par with his score of 145. 
  • Brady Dice is tied for 20th place overall after carding twin rounds of 74 for the Cardinals. He is six over par in the event after the two rounds. 
  • Jared Lyons is tied for 32nd after shooting scores of 75-76 and is nine over par.
  • Mitch Hughes had rounds of 83-74 and is tied for 53rd while Jordan Weaver is tied for 62nd after scores of 81-79.

The Cardinals will have the third and final round of the tournament on Tuesday at The Meadows Golf Course.
