Hoskins Jr. earns GLIAC Player of the Week award

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University men's basketball team returned to Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action last week with a pair of road games.

The Cardinals were led in the two contests by senior guard Darnell Hoskins Jr., who has been named the latest GLIAC South Division Player of the Week, it was announced on Monday.

Hoskins Jr. scored 17 points, adding five assists for the Cardinals in a loss at Lake Superior State on Thursday. He added a 24-point performance in a loss at Michigan Tech, where he hit seven 3-pointers for SVSU.

The Dayton, Ohio native is averaging 12.8 points per game and recently set the SVSU program record for career 3-pointers, currently with 231.

The Cardinals return home to host Northern Michigan University at 8 pm on Thursday at the James E. O'Neill Jr. Arena.
