DELAIDE, Australia -- Former SVSU Men's Basketball point guard Kellen Smith has inked a professional contract to play for the Norwood Flames Basketball Club. Smith made it official with the team on Thursday, April 27. 

Smith, who competed for the Cardinals from 2011-12 through 2015-16, playing in 113 games and starting 105 of them. He averaged 26.6 minutes per game for the Cardinals. Kellen holds the program's single season record for assists with his 185 that he had during the 2015-16 season and the team's run to the 2016 Division II Elite Eight. He also owns the career assist record, racking-up 546 throughout his career. Smith ranks 10th in career steals with 147.

Saginaw Valley claimed the program's first GLIAC championship in the NCAA era in 2015-16 en route to the first-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament and Midwest Regional Championship.
