BAY CITY, Mich. - A pair of SVSU men's basketball student-athletes have been named to respective All-GLIAC teams for their play for the Cardinals during the 2016-17 regular season. Senior forward C.J. Turnage has been selected to the All-GLIAC First Team for the third time in his career while fellow senior forward Wade Gelhaus has been named to the GLIAC All-Defensive Team.

Turnage was second on the teams with 15.3 ppg, shooting 55.8% from the floor while averaging 29.1 minutes per game. He pulled-down 8.0 rpg as well, leading the team. Turnage's 8.0 rpg ranked him fourth in the GLIAC. C.J. finished his SVSU career second in career points and field goals, ranking sixth in rebounds as well. Turnage ranks ninth in steals and 10th in career assists too. 

Gelhaus averaged 6.1 ppg and 5.7 rpg for the Cardinals in his 27 starts and 28 games played. He averaged 23.8 minutes per contest and was steady all year defensively for SVSU. 

The Cardinals finished the 2016-17 campaign with a 17-11 overall record and 10-11 mark in GLIAC play. The team graduates five seniors from this year's squad, which posted 72 victories as a senior class. It marks the winningest senior class since the 1986-87 class, with both coming away with 72 wins.
