KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Saginaw Valley State University junior forward C.J. Turnage has been selected to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division II All-District First Team for the Midwest Region.

Turnage, who earlier this season earned Second Team All-Midwest Region honors from the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association and First Team All-GLIAC honors as well, leads his team into Wednesday's night Elight Eight national quarterfinal contest against Western Oregon University. Tip-off is set for 9:30 p.m. eastern time.

C.J. led SVSU in 2015-16 with 16.9 ppg while shooting at a 54.1 percentage from the floor. He grabbed a team-best 5.7 rpg as well and chipped-in with 2.8 assists per contest. He started all 32 games for Saginaw Valley and played an average of 27.9 minutes per game.

Saginaw Valley currently has a 25-7 overall record and has now posted back-to-back 20-plus win seasons. The Cardinals are participating in their first-ever NCAA Division II Elite Eight in what is just their first NCAA Division II postseason appearance as well. The 25 victories matched a program record and are the most since the 1984-85 team's 25 wins.
