UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - Men's Basketball Head Coach Randy Baruth has announced the addition of a new student-athlete to the program, as the team welcomes Richie Roberts aboard.

Roberts, a 6-2 guard from Detroit, Michigan, prepped at Westland John Glenn High School before competing at Oakland Community College. He was named a junior college all-american, the league's Player of the Year and also All-Midwest Region.

Coach Baruth weighed-in on the team's new addition and how he will help the program in the coming years...

"Richie comes to us after a great career at Oakland Community College. He's a strong body guard with the ability to score the ball and has a lot of experience from his time in the junior college ranks. He's a great fit for this program!"

Saginaw Valley, the preseason favorite to win the GLIAC North Division, is currently leading in the overall GLIAC Standings with a league record of 14-2 and an overall mark of 18-4. The Cardinals entered the national rankings for the first time this week as well, coming in at the No. 21 position in the weekly NABC Top-25 Poll.
