BAY CITY - Four Saginaw Valley State University basketball players were named to respective All-GLIAC teams following annual voting conducted by the league's head coaches.

The Cardinals landed one student-athlete on the All-GLIAC First Team, a pair on the All-GLIAC Second Team and had a player named to the GLIAC All-DefensiveTeam.

Sophomore C.J. Turnage was selected to the All-GLIAC First Team following a season that was equally as impressive as last year when he was named the GLIAC "Freshman of the Year" and earned Second Team honors.  Turnage averaged a team-best 14.3 ppg, adding an average of 5.9 rpg which also led the Cards.  His 61.2 field goal percentage ranked him 5th in the GLIAC while his ppg and rpg totals both ranked 11th in the league.

Junior Damon Bozeman and sophomore Garrett Hall earned All-GLIAC Second Team honors.  Bozeman was third on the team with a 12.4 scoring average, adding a 4.5 rpg that was second only to Turnage's total.  Hall was second on the team with 13.6 ppg and he rebounded at a 3.8 rpg clip.

Kellen Smith, a junior point guard, was named to the GLIAC All-Defensive Team.  Smith was 7th in the GLIAC with a mark of 1.6 steals per game.  He also racked-up 6.0 assists per game, ranking him 3rd in the league.  

Saginaw Valley State had a breakout season for the 2014-15 campaign, rattling-off 13 straight victories for the first time since the program did it in the 1989-90 season.  The Cards also led the GLIAC with a 47.6 shotting percentage and were 4th in scoring with 73.7 ppg.  The 16 league victories is the most in program history as well and SVSU posted its first winning season since the 2009-10 campaign.

The Cardinals enter the 2015 GLIAC Tournament as the #4 seed and host the University of Findlay on Wednesday at 6:00 pm at the James E. O'Neill Arena.  Click here for ticket pricing information.
