KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Saginaw Valley State University men's basketball team enters the national top-25 rankings for the first time as a member of the NCAA Division II.  The Cardinals sit at #20 in the weekly National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Top-25 Poll.

After several weeks being in the "Others Receiving Votes" category, the Cards put together a 3-0 week with victories over Hillsdale (59-56), then #21 and current #24 Lake Superior State (56-52) and Northwood (76-72).

Saginaw Valley (19-4, 15-2 GLIAC) has a tough stretch of five regular season games remaining.  That stretch begins at Northern Michigan University on Thursday (Feb. 12) in a 7:30 pm matchup before the Cardinals play at Michigan Tech University on Saturday (Feb. 14) in a 3:00 pm tilt.  SV posted a 65-43 home victory over the Wildcats on January 22nd but fell to the Huskies by a score of 66-58 on January 24th in O'Neill Arena.
