UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley
men’s basketball lost to Wayne State University by a score of
76-65 last night (Feb. 5).
In the first half the Cardinals were led by Daniel Genther
(Laingsburg, Mich / Laingsburg HS) who scored seven of his 20 total
points. Avery Stephenson (Romulus, Mich. / Univ. of
Nebraska-Kearney)had five points and also pulled down three
rebounds for Saginaw Valley.
Greg Foster (Indianapolis, Ind. / T.C. Howe HS) led Saginaw Valley
in the second half scoring 16 points, while Dante Williams (Romulus
Mich. / East Tenn. State Univ.) had 15 points. Stephenson (Romulus,
Mich. / Univ. of Nebraska-Kearney) also dropped in 10 of his 15
points for the Cardinals.
With the loss the Cardinals fall to 5-14 overall and 5-10 in the
GLIAC, while Wayne State moves to 8-11 overall and 6-9 in the
GLIAC. Saginaw Valley returns to action on Saturday, February 7
against Northwood at Northwood at 7:30 p.m.
