SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University men’s basketball team dropped a 102-74 decision to Lake Superior State University this afternoon (Jan. 3).

The Cardinals were lead in scoring for the game by Avery Stephenson (Romulus, Mich. / Nebraska Kearney) who dropped in 21 points and grabbed six rebounds. Dante Williams (Romulus, Mich./East Tenn. St.) added 18 points on 6-of-12 shooting and Greg Foster (Indianapolis, Ind. / T.C. Howe) added 17 points in 38 minutes of action.

With the loss the Cardinals fall to 1-9 on the season, 1-5 in the GLIAC, while Lake Superior State moves to 7-4 overall and 4-2 in the GLIAC. SVSU will return to action at 8 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 8) when they host Grand Valley State University.
