FINDLAY, Ohio - Saginaw Valley State University
fell to #1 Findlay this evening (Dec. 4) 83-58 in their 2008 GLIAC
opener.
The Cardinals took an early 2-0 lead just forty seconds into the
game on a Adam Gries (Freemont, Ohio) layup, but that would be the
only lead SVSU would have on the evening. Gries finished with nine
points and seven rebounds on the night. Lawrence Ross (Battle
Creek, Mich./Miami University) led all scorers with 20 points on
7-of-12 shooting from the floor. Junior forward Avery Stephenson
(Romulus, Mich./Nebraska Kearney) dropped in 13 and senior guard
Dante Williams (Romulus, Mich./East Tenn. State) added 11
points.
The Cardinals fall to 0-3 on the season and 0-1 in the GLIAC,
while the Oilers move to 4-0 overall and 1-0 in the GLIAC. SVSU
will return to action on December 7 when they host Hillsdale.
Tipoff is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
