BAY CITY, Mich. - Saginaw Valley’s Dante
Williams (Romulus, Mich./East Tenn State Univ.) was named GLIAC
North Player of the Week for his play on the court last week.
Williams, a senior guard helped led the Cardinals to a 1-1 mark
last week. In Thursdays contest against Wayne State, Williams
notched 18 of his game high 24 points, shooting 8-of-14 from the
floor and six-of-six from the charity stripe. In Saturday’s
game against Northwood, he dropped in 27 points on 7-of-16 shooting
and was a perfect 11-of-11 from the free throw line for the game,
including eight-of-eight down the stretch in the second half. For
the week, Williams averaged 25.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and three
assists per game last week.
The Cardinals return to action on Thursday (Jan. 22) when they
travel to Michigan Tech to play the Huskies at 8:00 PM.
