Josh Miller is entering his fourth season as defensive line coach at SVSU. Last season he coached the defense to 17 sacks, 61 tackles for loss, and 886 total tackles. The Cardinals averaged 80.5 tackles per game.

In 2014 he helped coach the defense to a total of 24 sacks and an average of 72.5 tackles per game. In the 2013 season Miller headed a defense that recorded 23 sacks and 77 tackles for loss.  He also coached defensive lineman Brian Johnson to All-GLIAC honors and 119 total tackles, ranking him tied for second overall in the GLIAC.  In his first seson his defensive unit finished with 26 sacks (3rd GLIAC)  and 67 tackles for loss.  He helped coach defensive end Ryan Busch to all-conference honors in 2012.

During his one season at Northern Michigan (2011), Miller helped to develop Wildcat team MVP Matt Forward.  Forward and Zach Anderson would also garner All-GLIAC honors as the two leading tacklers on the team in 2011.

Miller played on the defensive line for four years at SVSU (2004-07) where he was a three-time all-GLIAC selection and three-year captain.  He still currently ranks second in carerre sacks (24) and third in tackles for loss.  He also ranks sixth and eighth in sacks in a season with 10 and 9.5.

After college Miller played a season with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2008 and two seasons with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2009-10 both of the Canadian Football League.

Miller is from Waterford, Mich. and is a 2004 graduated of Waterford Mott High School where he lettered in football, baseball and basketball. He graduated from SVSU in 2010 with a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science with a Coaching minor.
