UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – Saginaw Valley State University sophomore defensive back Elijah Gordon was tabbed the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Football Defensive Player of the Week when the league office announced the weekly awards.

Gordon had a great day defensively for the Cardinals as he made key plays for SVSU including an open field tackle on a fake punt that gave the Cardinals the football on downs along with the game-winning interception in overtime.

This is the first Player of the Week award for Gordon this season and the second award given to a member of the Cardinal defense.

Gordon and the SVSU team goes on the road to play GLIAC opponent Davenport on Saturday, October 28 for a noon kickoff.
