Dragons Top Cardinals in GLIAC Matchup

TIFFIN, Ohio - The Saginaw Valley State University football team continued on the road for the second game of the 2015 season, this time taking on the Tiffin University Dragons. The Dragons carried a 16-0 lead into halftime after four field goals and a touchdown and added another three scores in the second half to claim a 40-0 victory.

Linebacker Bryan Jones led the Cardinal defense with 11 tackles and was named the Meijer "Player of the Game." Matt McKoy, Keith Trumps, Myles Collier and Zack Hadorn all chipped-in with five stops defensively as well. Hadorn and Jack Jennings combined on a sack for the Cardinals, totaling a loss of five yards.

Andrew Courtemanche had an average of 42.1 yards on 10 punts with two touchbacks and another pair of kicks that pinned the Dragons inside their own 20.

Saginaw Valley falls to 0-2 on the season and 0-1 in the GLIAC after the defeat. Tiffin improves to 2-0 overall and 2-0 in league play. The Cardinals return to the field on next Saturday (Sep. 19) for their first home game of the 2015 season. The team hosts Michigan Tech University (2-0, 2-0 GLIAC) in a 1:00 p.m. contest.
