On Friday, Janis was named one of 24 candidates for the 2012 Harlon Hill Award by the National Harlon Hill Award Committee.  He had a record-breaking season for the Cardinals this year.  To date, his 106 receptions rank second in DII, while his 1,635 yards are top in the nation.  He has also caught 17 touchdown passes this season and has been named the GLIAC Offensive "Player of the Week" four times this season.  Janis registered a GLIAC and SVSU record 300 yards receiving against Lake Erie in week 4, he also broke the GLIAC and SVSU mark for receptions with an 18 catch effort against Michigan Tech in week 9.  In that same contest, he eclipsed single season SVSU marks for receptions and yards in a season.  In the game against Grand Valley in week 11, Janis set a new single season GLIAC standard for receptions in a season with 91.

The Cardinals finished their season with an 8-3 record overall and 7-3 mark in the GLIAC.  SVSU also claimed a share of the GLIAC North Title for the second consecutive year.
