Beaver leads list of 12 Cardinals Named All-GLIAC

BAY CITY, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University football team had 12 players selected to the All-GLIAC team for the 2010 season.  SVSU's lone first team selection was senior wide receiver Andrew Beaver (Dearborn, Mich.).  Beaver was second in the GLIAC with 74 catches, setting a new single season mark at SVSU.  He would finish the season with 74 catches for 884 yards and nine touchdowns.  He also set the single game record with 14 catches in September against Northwood University.

Being selected to the second team were sophomore running back Ronnie Lark (Flint, Mich./Powers Catholic HS), senior offensive lineman Greg Hanson (Bay City, Mich./Central HS), senior defensive end Josh Fulton (Mishawaka, Ind.), sophomore linebacker Grant Caserta (Holland, Mich./West Ottawa HS) and senior linebacker Wayne Sanders (Rochester, Mich./Adams HS).  Lark was a workhorse for the Cardinals, finishing the season with 989 yards on 183 carries and seven scores.  Hanson was a two year starter at center for the Cardinals and also handled short snapping duties on special teams.  Fulton finished his season with 26 tackles after battling an early season injury.  Caserta led the Cardinals with 96 tackles, recovered four fumbles and forced two more.  Sanders was second on the team with 88 tackles and forced a team high four fumbles.

Cardinals selected to the honorable mention team were senior defensive backs Ja'Vae Ingraham (Lakeland, Fla.) and Rick Evans (Jacksonville, Fla.), defensive lineman Nate Snyder (Dearborn, Mich.) and Paul Webb (Royal Oak, Mich.), offensive lineman Frank Toarmina (Westland, Mich./John Glenn HS) and tight end Zach Cecich (Crown Point, Ind.).

The Cardinals finished the season 4-7.
