UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University Athletic Department will be recognizing members of all branches of the military on Oct. 17, 2009 at H.R. Wickes Memorial Stadium.

The first annual Armed Forces Day will kick off at noon on Saturday with a number of recognitions. All members of the military, past and present, will receive free admission to the football game when they present their military ID at the gates. SVSU will be joined by members of the Sea Cadets out of Bay City, MI for a presentation of arms during the pre-game ceremonies. In conjunction with the Saginaw Valley Marching Band, SVSU Athletics will conduct a special halftime ceremony to honor all military members in attendance.
