Kevin Schwedler is in his fourth season of coaching first base, directing the strength and conditioning program for the Cardinals and coordinating the SVSU defensive unit.

A 2004 graduate of Bullock Creek High School, Schwedler was a three sport athlete playing baseball, basketball and football.  A two time all state baseball player, Schwedler led the Lancers to the 2001 and 2004 Baseball State finals.

Following his high school career, Schwedler played for Saginaw Valley from 2004-2009.  Playing second base, he appeared in 131 games starting 110 of them. He batted .282 with 1 home run and a .928 fielding percentage.  Schwedler was a member of a 34-14 Cardinal team that appeared in the 2007 NCAA Regional Tournament.  During his career, he was a three time all GLIAC academic team member.

Schwedler graduated from SVSU in 2009 with a Bachelors degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Coaching and Management.  He resides in Midland with his wife, Leann.
