BAY CITY - Saginaw Valley State University senior starting pitcher Mitchell Lumley was selected as the GLIAC Baseball North Division "Pitcher of the Week" for his performance over spring break for the Cardinals.

Lumley had an impressive performance in a complete game, nine-inning shutout victory over the Cedarville Yellow Jackets.  He scattered seven hits, striking-out three batters while going the distance in the victory.  It was the first nine-inning shutout for the Cardinals dating back to at least 1987.

The Cardinals (5-3) are back in action on March 21-22 as they open GLIAC play against the Tiffin University Dragons.
