Marc Jaksa joined the Saginaw Valley State University Athletic Department in January 2018 as the first-ever Athletics Academic Advisor.
 
Jaksa joins the Cardinals after serving as a Graduate Assistant Academic Coordinator for student-athletes in the Illinois State University Athletic Department.  His primary job responsibility was to conduct weekly meetings with freshman and academically at risk student-athletes to provide guidance related to classes, study skills, organization, prioritization, and time management.  He also assisted with the department's Career Development program.
 
During his Graduate Assistantship at Illinois State University, he earned a Master of Science degree in Sport Management.
 
Prior to Illinois State, Jaksa attended Central Michigan University where he holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts degree in Sport Management with minors in Business Administration and Recreation.
 
He was a member of the Central Michigan University baseball team, where his experiences as a student-athlete created a personal interest in student-athlete academic advising.  He completed an internship in the Dick Enberg Academic Center at Central Michigan, and served as a student-athlete tutor.
 
Jaksa attended high school at Sacred Heart Academy in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, where he currently resides.
